I recently purchased a Huawei K4201 modem
from Vodafone and after I used up the data bundle I wanted to use
different SIM cards in the modem but unfortunately I couldn’t use it
because it was locked and subjective to be compatible only
with vodafone SIM cards.Without thinking twice I jumped straight to google to find out how I can unlock the new Huawei K4201 Modem.
In less than 5 minutes I was able to get a solution to my problem.. Thats why I love the internet. Knowledge is basically free once you decide to spend the time and resources to learn and implement. There are a ton of tutorials online to show you how to unlock the Huawei K4201 modem and other modems but honestly speaking most of them are bogus. What I will show you applies to all other modems and not just this modem in question.
The speed related to modem with the Vodafone Ghana network is fast as compared to other modems that I have used in the past. Another benefit is the fact that it connect automatically once i insert into my pc. The only disadvantage I find with this modem is the fact that you cannot make calls via it software. Once I find a way around it I will update you.

How to Unlock Huawei K4201Modem for Free
1. Remove the back cover of your Huawei K4201 modem and write down the 15 digit IMEI code of your modem since this code will help you to unlock the modem. Make sure you to cross check the number you have written. NB: This is very important.
2. Connect the Huawei K4201 Modem into your computer allow the modem to install the software and required drivers unto the pc that is if the software is not already installed on your computer.
If the software does not automaticaly start, go to My Computer and continue the rest of the process so you can install the software.
3.Connect to the internet and click here to go this website.
4. Once you are on this site, log in with your google + account or gmail email address. Dont get confused. If you have a gmail address you automatically have a google + account, so just log in with your gmail address and password.
5. If you are using this for the first time the software will ask permission to accept the terms and conditions by which you should click Yes
6. After the 5th step you should be shown this dialog box by which you should type in your 15 digit IMEI code and model number which is Huawei k4201 and hit calculate
7. To reveal your code click on the google + to check the unlock code
8. Copy the New Algo Code unto notepad or write it down since this is the code you will use to unlock the modem. NB: Do not copy the code below on this page since this is for another modem.
9. Remove the modem from your USB and close the Huawei K4201 software on your computer.
10. Remove the default SIM card from the modem and replace it with any active SIM card other than the default one.
11 After the above step insert the modem back into the usb of your computer.
12. After a few seconds or minutes a page will display for you to let you input your unlock code
13. Type the unlock code you wrote down earlier before to unlock your modem
Voila your modem is unlocked and you can now use your Huawei K4201 to access the internet with any other different SIM card.
Note that this will apply to other Huawei modem types as well. I have used to this process to unlock a couple of modems for my buddies.
